Survival Essentials Heirloom Seed Review

The husband and wife co-founders of Survival Essentials operate their business in the Ozark Mountains in northeast Oklahoma.  After seeing how many companies were selling low-quality, overpriced seed packages, they entered the market offering real quality seeds at a realistic and reasonable cost.  They have been heirloom gardeners for over 25 years.

There are two heirloom seed kits worth taking into account that are offered by Survival Essentials.  These kits are marketed as All-In-One Super Value Paks.

100 Variety Premium Heirloom Seed Bank

The first kit is a 100 Variety Premium Heirloom Seed Bank.  It contains almost 18,000 seeds (vegetables, fruits, and medicinal/culinary herbs), along with a free Microgreens Kit.

Microgreens are tiny vegetable greens that are smaller than baby greens and harvested later than sprouts.  They are used as a visual and a flavor ingredient in many fine dining restaurants.  They are typically harvested later than seed sprouts after the plant has produced tiny leaves.  A number of leaf and root vegetables are considered to be microgreens such as lettuce, kale, watercress, herbs, spinach, radishes, and beets.

135 Variety Premium Heirloom Seed Bank

The other kit is a 135 Variety Premium Heirloom Seed Bank.  This package holds well over 23,000 seeds ((vegetables, fruits, and medicinal/culinary herbs), along with nine free RARE tomato varieties, which adds up to a total of 144 different types of seeds.

Both kits offer a large assortment of seeds that covers all hardiness zones.  Also included are “Secrets to Successful Long Term Seed Storage.”

Each heirloom seed variety is unique and possesses flavor that hybrid seed growers will never experience!

With planting season now starting, it was a joy to have accessed your site! I love the reviews. I am a huge fan of organic, non gmo seeds and I’m looking forward to trying some of these reviews out! Do you prefer one over the other? I’m planning on a much larger garden this year. I’m still new at it, but I do love seeing those seeds sprout and grow into something delicious. :o) Thanks for taking the time to review the products.

Thanks, for visiting my website, Paula!

I am a “more power” kind of person so, I prefer the heirloom seeds packages with the most varieties. Then, I can try many different kinds of veggies, fruits, and herbs from one year to the next. If you plan on storing your seeds at room temperature, the sealable .30 caliber ammo box in the Grow For It 105 Varieties Survival Seeds Vault might make their package a wise choice.

I chose these three seed companies because of their high quality seeds (mostly 85%+ germination rates) and their dedication to customers. Most other seed companies have exhibited very poor germination rates according to a wide range of reviews I have researched.

It really boils down to individual preference and how many different types of seeds you need to give you the number of choices you desire.

      Jim
