Husqvarna YTH18542 Review

This Is The Husqvarna YTH18542 Review…

Of An Impressive Garden Tractor

Husqvarna YTH18542 Garden Tractor

The only way to fly!  I have got to tell you that I have been enormously impressed with Husqvarna tractors.  And, in this Husqvarna YTH18542 review, I will cover this 18.5 horsepower, 42 inch cutting deck model in depth to show how it has all the get up and go that I need for mowing and towing!

It powers through thick grass like a hot knife through warm butter – and, with the anti-scalp deck wheels, the chances of turning your lawn into a bald dirt spot are next to none – unless you are trying to mow up over a sharp ridge.

The engine is a 540cc Briggs and Stratton – and, it always starts for me on the first crank – as long as I do the required scheduled maintenance.

You just can’t beat the hydrostatic transmission either.  Just make sure you bleed the transmission per break-in instructions prior to first time use – or after having the transmission repaired.   A manual or automatic transmission will have a belt to engage it but, the hydrostatic transmission has no belt – so, one less belt to worry about breaking at the wrong time!

Gorilla heavy-duty cart being towed.

Using my Husqvarna to tow my trusty Gorilla Heavy-Duty Cart around the yard is a breeze.  You just would not believe how much easier it is to have this tractor/cart combination for moving heavy yard equipment and debris around my yard and garden!

Important Stuff

It’s interesting to note that this compact little tractor does not use much more gas than my 22 inch Briggs and Stratton push mower and I can mow the same size area in less than half the time!  And, way less than half the exhaustion!

The front tires are a respectable 15 inches and the rear tires are a whopping 20 inches.  Along with a cast iron front axle, the tractor has a truly tight 16 inch turning radius.

A six position lever allows a cutting height of a short 1.5 inches all the way up to 4 inches.

The headlights give off a piercing beam of light for those who mow during moonlight – risking their neighbors’ wrath.

The comfortable mid-back seat rounds out the picture of a quality piece of Husqvarna machinery!

Customer Comments

Some positive comments from other owners of the Husqvarna YTH18542 Garden Tractor…

“After mowing with my Husqvarna, my lawn looks like a golfing green.  It puts all other tractors to shame.”

“This tractor has all the quality and features I’ve ever wanted in garden tractor.  And, it is much more comfortable and easy to operate than my old John Deere.”

“With my YTH18542, I can mow my acre and a half in just a little under an hour!”

“I like the adjustable seat that can not only accommodate my extra long legs but, my wife’s extra short legs.”

“This has got to be one of the best investments I’ve ever made.”

“This is the smoothest, quietest tractor I’ve ever owned.  Not only can you see the quality but, you can feel the quality every time you drive it!  I’m definitely sold on Husqvarna tractors!”

“Awesome lawnmower!”

“I have owned Husqvarna equipment in the past and this tractor perfectly meets and exceeds my needs.”

NOTE:  For the life of me, I could not find any legitimate negative comments about this Husqvarna tractor.  The only complaints I found were for issues like “hard to start” or “transmission slips” – or similar issues – all of which indicated that the owners did not read and FOLLOW the instruction manual.  If they had done their due diligence, these issues would most likely have been avoided in their entirety!

So, Are You Convinced?

With such a quality tractor, it is easy to win over any doubters that this is the best tractor value on the market today!  What tractor are you thinking about purchasing?  If you haven’t yet made up your mind, I heartily recommend the Husqvarna YTH18542 Garden Tractor.  You will NOT be disappointed!  By the way, clicking the product link will take you to the main Husqvarna equipment page and this tractor is about 5 or 6 products down the page.

Yeah, I am convinced! Looks like a great mower and tower! I like that I can also tow stuff. This makes it easy for me to get stuff from the back yard to the front…no more lugging bags that end up ripping and leaving me a trail to clean up. This is a great machine. Thanks for the great review.

Yes, this Husqvarna YTH18542 is an amazingly great mower and tower!  It has saved me a lot of time and helped keep my old bones from creaking too much.

And, the Gorilla Cart that I’m hooking to it has removable sides that turns the cart into a flat bed – making it easy for me to transport my push mower to another area on my property far, far away from the house.

You can also find some other great garden tractors on the main garden tractor review page, too!
